What the net/core one. it is a directory.
The file (1) command will tell you what each file is.
On my system (RH4.1)
/dev/core does not exist
/var/spool/cron/crontabs/core does not exist
/proc/sys/net/core is a directory
/usr/src/linux/net/core is a directory (associated with the dir above).
So all in all it looks like you can delete the crontabs and dev core files.
running these commands (pre-written so you can cut and paste) will check.
file /var/spool/cron/crontabs/core
file /dev/core
If they say Linux core file (or something similar) then you can delete them.
Just a question though. Do spend a lot of time logged in as root?
