The other thing to note is that (at least at present) Prentice does not
forward mail addressed to machines at @_.slip.cc.uq.edu.au.  The message
gets bounced, and if there are a few of them, then you'll get some
semi-polite, and then semi-irate from someone at Prentice. 

So even if you call your home computer zzwhatever.slip.cc.uq.edu.au, then
you still won't get some of the functionality which you want.

The best idea, IMHO, is, as Craig said, to sell your soul to the BOFH and
get a .humbug.org.au address which resolves to your Prentice dial-up
address.
