[H-GEN] What the? PINE segmentation fault

hi 

PINE was always such a well-behaved program...
yesterday I was merrily pining away as per usual on my RedHat 4.0 box, but
on quitting PINE I got segmentation fault - core dumped

this happened repeatedly, as several different users (incl. root)
the program would always start fine, the mail worked fine, but on
quitting...seg fault core dump

"poop" I thought, "I'll deal with this tomorrow"....so today is tomorrow
and I try to reproduce the problem.....it all works perfectly.  

can anyone tell me what might have happened ?
