HUMBUG, the Home UNIX Machine Brisbane Users Group, holds talks and group
discussions on various topics of interest to club members during club
meetings.

Events that are of general interest are held in the main meeting room,
while more-specialised material is presented and discussed in a separate
room.

Details of the upcoming talk are as follows.


TITLE:     Introduction to Concurrency

PRESENTER: Andrae Muys.

ABSTRACT:  Andrae will be giving a talk on the fundamentals of programming
            using concurrency.  He will be covering the following:

          - What problems concurrency is often used to solve.
          - Different forms of/approaches to concurrency.
          - Problems introduced by concurrency.
          - Introduction to some of the primatives used to combat said
            problems.
          - Personal discussion on safe/unsafe form-primative
            combinations.

           The talk will be scheduled to run for 30 minutes, with
            additional time for audience questions

TARGET     Developers.
AUDIENCE:

DATE:      Saturday, 18th January, 2003.

TIME:      7.00pm.

LOCATION:  Room 50-2, to be confirmed on the day.
