       Linux/FreeBSD Systems Administrator with Firewall Experience
                 42 Servers, Gold Coast, Perm or Contract
                       Immediate Start will be ideal

Our  client  develops  messaging  solutions  that  integrates Internet with
telephone  phone  networks. In this role, you will be responsible for daily
system administration tasks, maintenance and provision of network services.
This  will  entail  firewall  administration and installation, user account
creation and maintenance, and generic network service
 administration.  This  role  also  requires  design of future architecture
configuration  and  software services as required. The environment consists
of 42 FreeBSD and Linux web and mail servers. Strong firewall and messaging
experience is mandatory.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Create and Manage User Accounts on UNIX and Windows based systems
- Configure and maintain system services,  Sendmail, DNS, etc.
- Complete regular system backup and archiving
- Configure and maintain firewall rulesets and logging (IPChains, IPFilter etc.)
- Recover and rebuild systems in an outage situation
- Configure end user systems
- Develop tools to enable remote support and network access
- Audit Telecommunication costs
- Audit hardware and software in accordance with existing licensing policies
- Ensure a service level is attained for availability of commercial systems

Qualifications and Experience :
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
- Good TCP/IP protocol knowledge
- In-depth experience with UNIX based systems (Linux BSD etc.)
- Experience with Windows based systems (WIN98/NT/2000)
- IP Routing experience
- Server Application experience ( SSH, DNS, Sendmail, Apache etc.)
- Scripting language experience (SHELL, PERL, AWK etc.)
