My mistake.  Namecheap were quoting for 1 year, and the Enetica price
is for 2.  So the price is the same.   However reason 2 was the primary
motivation, and I've now verified Namecheap does offer PayPal at the
check out (as opposed to just accepting their assurances on their
marketing blurb).
