Assuming we are going the "constitutional pendant" route we can't do
that until the meeting has been "held" and that which must be at least 1
week from when notice was given.  Notice was given yesterday.

I personally would have been happy informally ensuring everyone was OK
paying it at the regular Humbug meeting, then paying it, and then ratify
the payment at the next Exec meeting.  For obvious reasons most of you
didn't want that, so we decided to adhere to the letter of the
constitution.  Now we have taken the trouble of going down that path I
think we should follow it to the end.

Whatever suits you.  You could write out a forward dated cheque and get
it signed at the Xmas dinner.
