I don't know what a tagged link is. Perhaps you could give an example
(including URL's) or a page that doesn't work.

I should have mentioned I have create DNS aliases for both the old and
new VM's. For the old VM, replace "humbug.org.au" with
"rb.humbug.org.au", and you should see web pages delivered by the server
running on the old VM. Thus planet.rb.humbug.org.au displays the Planet
Humbug page on the old VM, and rb.humbug.org.au displays the wiki on the
old VM. Obviously, modifying the old wiki is not a productive thing to
do.

Similarly, if you replace "humbug.org.au" with "osdc.humbug.org.au" in
any URL, you will get what is now the new VM. There is not much point
in doing that while "osdc.humbug.org.au" is the machine hosting
"humbug.org.au" of course, but the point is while the jury is out on
whether the move has worked or not you can get to both VM's to compare
and test the two.

Finally, while this isn't the flaw I was thinking of (mine ie minor if
annoying) it is exactly the type of thing I am looking for. Which is to
say, it is something that a user of humbug.org.au could see. Things
that only a SysAdmin could detect by logging in or whatever are far less
important.
