G'day everyone.
I'm in need of some paid work, as I'm currently unemployed.
I've been working as a computer programmer and sysadmin since the late
'70s. I have a great breadth and depth of experience, plus I learn very
quickly. So I could probably do anything, or figure it out extremely
fast. I also write documentation well, so technical writing jobs are
also acceptable. I have used between 60 and 100 programming languages
during my career, depending on how you count. I like to claim that the
difference between me and an expert in any given language is about a
week. B-)
I prefer working with open source, Linux, or both. For what it is
worth, my passion is online 3D virtual worlds, like Second Life and
OpenSim, which I have spent a lot of time working with over the last
decade.
For Humbug members, I offer mates rates, though double for Windows
work, mostly to discourage it. My rates generally depend on the type of
work, ask me. Casual, contract, part time, full time, is all good for
me.
I can work remotely anywhere in the world over the Internet, or locally
in Brisbane, I live in Highgate Hill (inner city suburb within earshot
of The Gabba). At home I have development boxen for Android, Linux, Mac
OS, and Windows, as well as an Oculus Rift DK2 that I have done some
programming work with.
