[H-GEN] Ubuntu-16.10-beta2 resolves problems on Dell XPS-15

Nice.. I had a Studio XPS-16 that I bought in 2010, It's battery has been
useless for the last two years, but the machine continued to work for a
long time.
I have been running Fedora on it from Fedora 14 (Nov 2010) all the way to
Fedora 22 (to now), skipping the odd numbered versions, without any
problems at all.
I have even kept all my installation notes for each version.

In fact I only just retired it a couple of weeks ago because the keyboard
keys 'W' and 'X' decided they didn't want to work reliably any more! It
can be very difficult to login when you have those keys in a password, and
you can't see a response from pressing the keys.

In all that time it has been to China twice, and Sydney about 3 times, and
Townsville once, and it has kept on working...

In fact it is still working, as I reinstall the OS to use it as a media
center, with a wireless keyboard and mouse.

HOWEVER... I would not recommend Dell XPS, or the related Inspiron
machines.

Basically when the laptop is open the display hinge will BLOCK the fan
exhaust! Because of this the machine runs extremely hot when it is doing
any form of processing such as when running JAVA, or you are playing a high
graphics game (even is single threaded). If I don't have it sitting on a
fan table (a big one I bought in China) or it is lifted up slightly and a
small portable fan blows air underneath, it will slow down, and a couple of
time switch off due to the heat. Even in winter.

My new computer is a second hand Dell Latitude, the a more rugged (and more
expensive if new) Business range. The fan is on the side, and does not get
blocked by the display. I can feel it get warm when under load, it does
not over heat... EVER!

I was hoping to get some feedback on the HP computer range, which seems to
be the best alternative laptop to a Dell, for linux users.
