[H-GEN] Camcorders with HDMI-out

'Evening all,

I've recently acquired a couple of Lenkeng HDMI transmitters[1], which (with
some reverse-engineering and python-fu[2]) can act as HDMI-over-cat5
converters. Now I'm looking for some recording hardware to test with...

Does anyone have a digital camcorder that can output video over HDMI at 720p
(or better), that I can please borrow at this Saturday's HUMBUG meeting?

Motivation: videos from linux.conf.au, pycon-au and all sorts of random events
using similar open-source tools are all 4:3 and 576i, at best.
This is chiefly because:
 a) everyone is stuck using firewire- (IEEE 1394-) compatible camcorders and
laptops, as HDMI capture hardware is too expensive or rare.
 b) the software used[3] only deals with DV and firewire, mainly due to (a).
 c) open-source/UNIX-compatible or not, no other (affordable) software fits
    our needs.
I'm hoping to use the HDMI transmitters to get around (a), then complete some
software I've been developing to handle (b) and (c). Now I just need real HDMI
input devices to test with - to see if things work, or to provide info to the
manufacturer for a future (gigabit-only) model they're planning.

Many thanks
- Tomas
