Can anyone give me a recommendation on software for running a mailing list?
I can do the initial setup, but the list administrator isn't quite as
technical as me
The list has ~150 current members and is likely to grow to several hundred
The list is announce only, i.e. only the list administrator is able to send
messages
Membership is moderated, i.e. subscribers require list administrator
approval to join the list
The list is currently run using outlook distribution lists, but this
solution barely works any more as the server doesn't like messages with
>100 recipients so the mailing list has to be split between several
distribution lists.
Mailman seems to be the most common option but I haven't run it myself
before. The configuration guide shows that multiple MTAs and web servers
are supported, is there a recommended option for these?
Any general advice about running a mailing list would also be appreciated.
This is new territory for me.
Cheers,
Peter
