I tried NetBSD last year after breaking RedHat for the umpteenth time on my
gateway. I couldn't get it to boot, even after removing lilo. It wouldn't
boot off a bootdisk/cd either. I found the instructions rather unclear.
However, kernel source on cvs sounds great. I agree that it should be that
way for all *nix systems. having to download entire source, unarchive etc
or download and patch is such a pain in the rearend. In fact I find it so
painful on my 586 that I compile new kernels as infrequently as possible.
But what really bugs me is that I can't fit the source into the 60 or so
meg that the hard drive has free. We've taken to compiling a deb on a
higher end system when all we want to do is patch the source and let the
compile run overnight.
Anyone know if cvs kernel source is coming to linux?
Sandra.

because I'm only going to say this once. *Coffee*. Black.
