[ Humbug *General* list - semi-serious discussions about Humbug and ]
[ Unix-related topics. Please observe the list's charter. ]
[ Worthwhile understanding: http://www.humbug.org.au/netiquette.html ]
the main reasons i started using linux (redhat 4.2
then) a few years ago were
a. i did not see the point in buying software that has
3 months update and 2 ys replacment cycles
b. did not have the money for it
c. thought that the criminialization of software
copying was pathetic
so i turned my back on bill (really on the macs coz
that s what i was using, but same story, just a tad
more reliable)) and never looked back. how anyone can
like the cumbersome, ugly and featureless windows
desktop is beyond me, not to speak of powerless dos
command line. and why would i want to pay money or be
accused for copyright violations to use sth like that?
if it's windows, i don t need it.
regards
stephan
