The University of Queensland Computing Society            We have two big
events this week. First, our Intro to Linux will be held on Tuesday, which
is a great chance to learn about Linux and get free merchandise. Then on
Thursday, we have the much anticipated Trivia Night 2013! There is still
time to get a team together, and with our recent prize announcement, there
is no reason not to go.

       Intro to Linux Are you interested in learning about linux, but:

   - Haven't quite got around to it yet?
   - Don't know where to start?

UQ Computing Society will be running an Intro to Linux session this
Tuesday, 20 August. We will be demonstrating how to install linux, as well
as giving an overview of how to use it.

This is a great opportunity for CSSE2310 and COMP3301 students to get their
hands on a free operating system that they will be using over the next few
months.

Free Ubuntu merchandise and DVDs will be available for everyone who comes
along. There will also be premade Ubuntu virtual machines available, so you
can get started quickly without changing your computer setup.         *What:
*Intro to Linux
*When:* Tuesday 20 August, 5pm - 6pm
*Where:* Room 224, General Purpose South (Building 78)         Even if you
have Linux setup already, members will be available to answer any questions
you might have. Hope to see you there!        Trivia Night The 2013 EBESS
and UQCS Trivia Night is coming up this Thursday, 22 August. There will be
several rounds of questions, with computing, electrical, sporting and other
categories.

Get together your team of 3, and start practising! You still have plenty of
time to play Trivial Pursuit, watch Hot Seat, and read the internet to
boost your general knowledge. If you can't get a team together, you can
also register to be placed in a team on the night.         *What: *Trivia
