Programmer/Linux: Linux config/scripts, PHP, Moodle
One casual post is available for computer programmer/developer based at the University of Queensland, Teaching and Educational Development Institute (TEDI) to work on a funded grant project.

The task: Configure a bootable Linux based platform to run the Moodle LMS onboard a USB stick. The aim is to create a computer based exam platform in order to allow students to bring their your own device. Configuration for modularity for additional/optional features, harden for security to prevent access to partitions/directories/files on the USB drive, configure to prevent network or allow only restricted network access, establish approach to network reticulation of student responses. Some custom scripting may need to be done to create automated config scripts. Fully document all configurations, settings and changes etc to allow reproduction. Products produced will be made open source with full credit given. Further project details available.
Skills/Knowledge: Technical problem solving, lateral thinking and research skills are a must. Knowledge of Linux/liveCD/Bootable USB configuration. Security lock down, user permissions, networking, software installation, PhP, MySQL, databases. Knowledge of the Moodle learning management system will be a bonus.

Pay: According to UQ H level 4 or H level 5 hourly paid rates depending upon skill level and experience. See http://www.uq.edu.au/current-staff/index.html?page=180673&pid=11893 an alternative negotiated per feature contractual arrangement is also possible.

Start date/duration:  ASAP and for 12 months casual basis. Additional work also possible on related projects/tasks.
