I'm going to try and organise though sage-au QLD a I.T. mini conf for
Brisbane. At the moment I'm engaging the I.T. community in QLD to see if
there is actually an interest in such an event. I would like to run this
event in May next year.
I evision it to be a one or two day event with a low cost for entry.
Enough to cover costs and that's it. However as it will be a sage-au run
event the entry price would include a years membership. I'm looking at
the $150 - $200 mark, most likely the lower end of that scale.
This event would have a key note speaker to start the day, then some
training sessions and techincal talks.
My goal for this event would be to show case what QLD has to offer in
I.T. So why am I sending this to Humbug?
Well I would like other groups represented too, not only sage-au. I
beleive it is important that all the I.T. groups in QLD work together
sometimes and this is a perfect oppurtunity. Not any of the hard work
like organising, but doing possible a talk about humbug and a small
preso on opensource software.
So what I'd like to know is if any members here would be interested in
attending such an event if it is run, and if humbug would like to be
involved by way of a presentation.
Like I've told the sage-au QLD member base, I'll need to get at least 50
people interested in such an event before I put the hard work in. If
you'd be interested in such an event, please reply to this thread or me
privately.
If you think this email is not appropriate for the humbug list, please
ignore, and accept my appologies.
