relevant today despite being based upon such an old OS.

Being an IEEE Spectrum article, the quality of the writing is 
reasonably high. The author is Ryan Leavengood who has been the 
Treasurer for Haiku Inc. for a while now and a contributor to the Haiku 
project since 2003.
