That's not a proof, that's an assertion and a generalisation all
wrapped up into one statement.

That's a long bow to draw.
I don't think Sandra was making a point here, just asking a
fairly obvious question. Imnsho, Andrew's comment didn't help
anybody, and only reinforced top posting bad is.
Making a podcast available in different formats depends on
#1 how easy is it for *the creator* of the podcast to do so
#2 how much demand is there from the audience for different
formats
#3 how much help does the audience provide the creator in order
to make the publication available in a different format.
If you're willing to step up and put your principals to work
by transcoding from mp3 to [insert random other format here]
then you should do so.
What I (and I suspect, a lot of others) want, is for stuff to
"just freakin' work, damnit" without having to go and grab yet
another bloody codec. Otherwise the audience will go elsewhere.
