Greetings one-n-all,
Although we've had a dry period for the past two months, we once
again have another instalment of Brisbane Oracle Solaris Users
Group planned for the second Monday of August.
Maintaining the theme of past meetings, we're continuing with the
networking stack, and now venturing into the fun space of load
balancing. Solaris 11 has done to networking, what Solaris 10 did
for disk management with the introduction of ZFS. Solaris 11
provides the majority of network controls which have for a long
time been left to the network vendors. These networking features
now allow you to control how your hosts interact with the network.
Systems willing, and Murphy keeping his laws at bay, our next
meeting with include a demo of setting up the zones, apache web
services, and the Integrated Load Balancer.
Look forward to see you there.
When: Monday 13th August, 12:15-13:45
Where: Oracle Offices
Level 15 (via level 14), 300 Ann St, Brisbane.
Bring an appetite to learn, share stories and consume pizza.
Please let us know if you're coming, so we can ensure there's enough food to go around.
RSVPs to myself, Mark.Farmer at oracle.com or Shane.McGregor at oracle.com.
Cheers!
James C. McPherson
