Good evening all,

I just wanted to send out a quick reminder about this weekend's
InstallFest happening in Brisbane on Saturday. All the details are
available online [1] but a brief run down is as follows:

When: 10:00AM - 3:00PM Saturday the 7th of January 2012
Where: Ground floor meeting rooms of the Brisbane City Council,
Brisbane Square Library (266 George Street, Brisbane CBD).
What to bring: A laptop/netbook that you have previously backed up and
are willing to have one of the Ubuntu flavours installed on (or beside
another installation if you have the hard drive space to dual boot).
Light refreshments provided
Further Contact: jarednorris at ubuntu.com

As previously mentioned this is aimed at providing assistance and
demonstrations to those people who are interested in Linux but not
confident enough themselves to take the first step. This would be an
ideal start for anyone from school aged children through to retirees
to get in and have a go. The team of volunteers does include blue card
holders so you can be rest assured of the safe nature of the event.
There will be lightning talks throughout the day on topics introducing
new users to Linux and Ubuntu and plenty of people to provide general
advice and answer questions.

We're still hoping to raise as much awareness as possible so please
feel free to pass the email around or retweet the notices [2] amongst
your friends.

I hope to see many of you there
