[H-GEN] Linux distributions

I have settled on Lubuntu + MATE desktop.

Lubuntu installs LXDE, which is fairly light weight. I then install the
MATE desktop
over the top and make it the default. Once I install all the other poop I
want the
system ain't so light weight any more (but that was not my aim). The main
thing is
that I have my beloved old Gnome 2 interface, debian package management,
and
no steeeekin Unity.
