A debian netinst CD is 180 Mb or so. It won't automount anything when
it starts. Press Alt+F2 to get a console.

There is even a 40 Mb version at that sage site, but it may need a
working internet connection to download some drivers before it can see
your hardware or work with an ext4 file system.
Oh: and bandwidth is free at Humbug meetings. So is advice.
