Given the huge response I asked a couple of people at the last Humbug
meeting for options. Suggestions were:
- Montezumas, Taringa
http://www.montezumas.com.au/taringa.htm
- Sizzling Mongolian BBQ House, Taringa
http://www.menulog.com.au/sizzling_mongolian_b_b_q_house
You can see the prices for Montezumas at their web site, but I expect
most people will come out of there for under $30 each, not including
drinks.
The price for the Mongolian BBQ is $22, all you can eat again not
including drinks. It can seat 150, so should have no trouble handling
us. If you haven't been to a Mongolian BBQ before there is a
smorgasbord board of meats, salads, veges and sauces. You create your
own dish and give it to the man standing in front of a ruddy great BBQ
to cook it. Rinse, lather and repeat until you can't move from the
table to the BBQ.
Montezumas is where we have gone in the past. The Mongolian BBQ a
little different.
There was also a suggestion for peeling off a few live rounds at the
Belmont Shooting Range. From http://www.belmontrange.websyte.com.au/
this seems possible as new shooters can book in for 'Come and Try'
shoots held on Saturdays. I didn't list it because costs and numbers
aren't mentioned there, and it doesn't sound like it would be too
popular given that previous events have been attended by partners and
kids. However, it isn't out of the question and I am happy to be proved
wrong on the popularity front.
If you have a preference post it here or to me personally. I'll post
the final decision here and on the front page sometime near the 1/Nov.
