[H-GEN] Dvorak keyboard

last week in a frenzy of enthusiasm I moved all the keys on my 
keyboard.

I changed the keyboard layout with gnome, but it doesn't change the 
layout for the terminal.

I tried to edit xorg.conf 

Section "InputDevice"
	Identifier	"Generic Keyboard"
	Driver		"kbd"
	Option		"XkbRules"	"xorg"
	Option		"XkbModel"	"pc104"
	Option		"XkbLayout"	"dvorak"

but this failed I also tried to add Xkboptional
and have tried to setxkbmap dvorak

just told me I was awesome.
