It looks very good for the price but after taking a careful look at the specs I note a couple of things missing that we would really want in a camera. Firewire and microphone input. These two are kinda important for what we are looking for.

G'day Guys,

Have a look at www.kogan.com.au and see what they have available.  A 
1808p HD handycam at $369.  Sure, it may not be the same build quality 
as a $1500 Canon unit of *extremely* similar specifications, but at the 
price, and if treated well, I can't see this being a bad investment (if 
the investment is needed) even with the $99 for a 5 year extended 
warranty option.
