[H-GEN] AV equipement for HUMBUG

Hi everyone, 
We in the exec are looking at possibly getting AV equipment. We need a suitable video camera. Something that will work with Linux of course. I'm also interested about what software works best to record and compress the videos. So what I'm after is your experiences with AV equipment and the related software.
