As I offer all teams, I'm very happy to provide advice and some assistance from
the side-lines. I have no say, whatsoever, in which bid will be accepted (I
don't even get to vote), so if you want advice from me on your bid, I'm happy to
help there too. It need not be as elaborate as an LCA bid, something like what
the Brisbane folk put together for the 2007 OSDC would actually be above
expectations (I might still have a copy of this if you don't).
Be aware that the exec team have a very strong interest in seeing the conference
"move around". Thus if a group in somewhere other than Melbourne, Sydney or
Brisbane makes an even slightly compelling case; they'll get it. As far as I'm
aware, your only competitor right now is Sydney - who want to run it again. So
you could have an advantage by emphasising that the conference *is* moving.
