After all the talk it is time to put some of these ideas into action.
On the wiki you will find a list of stuff we can do for O'Week and
what needs to be done to make it happen. The URL is:

  http://www.stuart.id.au/lcawiki/oweek

If you can help, please go and read that page. It contains a list
of tasks that have to be done. Put your name on the ones you can
help out with.

Briefly:

1. Handing out Humbug CD's at O'Week. Marco Ostini has approached
UQ Connect, asking them if they would hand out Open Source CD's
to UQ student's at O'Week. They said yes(!) At the LCA dinner
we happened to stumble across someone who had 1300 Open Disc
CD's lying unused in the corner and was prepared to give them
to us. So, all that remains to be done is produce a flier to
stick into the CD sleeves, and hand them over to UQ connect.

I have made a first pass at a suitable flier. You can find it
on the Wiki. However, I am a programmer, not an artist. It
needs work. Please - someone polish it and put up a new version
on the Wiki. It is done using Inkscape.

Other things also need to be done - like stuffing the flier's
into the CD's, but I think we can all pitch in at a Humbug
    meeting.

2. Posters. The idea is simply to do what every other organisation
does at O'Week - put posters up everywhere. Well, not posters,
but A4 sheets. Again I have made a first pass at a suitable
poster using Inkscape, and put it up on the wiki. Again, it
    needs work.

Once that is done we need it printed, and then we need volunteers
to got around and put them on notice boards. Again this seems
easy enough to pull off. But again we need help, and it is
always easier to do this sort of thing with a few mates helping
out. So if you can help, go over to the wiki and put your name
    down.

3. Try to get Lecturers to mention us during their classes. We
might have one. If you know a lecturer well enough, perhaps
    you can get us more.

Normally I would come along to the next Humbug conference and give
a short talk in the hopes of generating some enthusiasm for the
project - but I am at a work related conference on the 7th, and
the 21st is getting too late. James and Marco have volunteered
to do some things. If you think you can organise something don't
ask - just do it. Don't be put off by anybody saying "if" or
"but".
