Some people have asked what would the effect of NAT?

The effect will be that machines on the HUMBUG meeting network will be
able to initiate TCP connections to machines on the Internet, but
machines on the Internet will not be able to initiate connections to
machines on the HUMBUG network. In particular, you will be able to
make the outbound connections required by typical client applications
including SSH, HTTP, HTTPS.

If you have, or have used, a home broadband connection with a
"modem/router" which "shares" the connection then you should be
familiar with this setup.

[1] Members who have built their own server to act as firewall,
router, and DHCP server are assumed to know what NAT is. :-)
