Anything from HP is generally good, HP also have the best linux support
around for printer, scanners and all-in-one units. Some of the Cannon
printer support is getting there and all the Cannons I have had in the
past where relatively easy to get going. Right now I am using a HP
all-in-one colour inkjet which cost about $400 from Officeworks, it all
works well with the hplip packages and minimal cups configuration.

Anywhere you can get a good price :) Tips in general are:
Don't assume ebay has the best price, check local stores with
  online catalogues.

Check as many places as you can, and only ever compare prices
  on exactly the same product.

There are any number of places that are easy to deal with and have good
prices on most IT equipment, it's just a matter of picking one that you
like and suits your needs (I tend to go all the way from Springwood to
Umart at Toowong for various reasons).
