You probably got no takers because you asked us to do 
something - in this case organise ourselves into groups.

If you just reduced it to "tell me if you are interested
in turning up on the day and make bridges" you might get 
some - like me for a start.

If you reduced it still further to "I will be turning up 
at the next Humbug meeting with paddle pop sticks and 
glue, and be asking for people to make bridges at XX PM," 
then you would probably get takers on the day.

The best outcome would probably be achieved by advertising
it the meeting before - armed with your Youtube video
showing what happens.  Immediately after showing the video
ask if anybody is interesting in doing that next meeting.
I'd lay odds you get quite a few saying "yes".  Then turn
up at the next meeting with the paddle pop sticks and glue,
and then watch everybody burn themselves with the glue guns.
