[H-GEN] O-week 2008

Hello everyone,

This year Humbug will be taking an active role at University and
College O-Weeks, and I'll be the main organiser. My main aim is to
expose new computer science and engineering students to unix, my
secondary goal is to increase humbug's membership.

We'll be targeting UQ (18th - 25th Feb), QUT (20th Feb), having
someone at the market day,  associated with with relevant groups
(BITS, WIT, etc), handing out some info and CDs. At this point I think
I'll be talking to UQ and Russell will be talking to QUT, but that's
flexible.

I'm looking for volunteers to scout out appropriate groups at the
institutions, liaise with them, and man the stalls on the day.

We're looking for local groups (php, mysql, perlmongers etc) to give
us flyers or spiels to hand out.

We're asking for donations of cds (preferably livecds, opencds) from
local unix companies (hello ubuntu and redhat).

All of this stuff can be kept over for our planned install fest and
software freedom days for later in the year.
