[H-GEN] Testers needed for small software package

As part of the paper I'm planning for the ODSC event that's approaching,
I have written a tiny test suite of client/server code that is supposed
to run out of the box on any POSIX-type system running any combination
of IPv4, IPv6 or IPvX. I need testers to give it a whirl on as many
platforms as possible in the near future. I'm interested in unusual and
old platforms as much as cutting edge stuff. I have personally tested
it on my Powerbook G4 running OSX and Ubuntu Feisty as well as on a
bunch of AMD64 and Intel i386 boxes running a range of FreeBSD versions
from 4.9 to 6.0 and 6.2.

You don't need to be a developer or software genius to run the tests and
you'll be able to do the whole thing in 10 to 15 minutes. It's a matter
of downloading a source archive, unpacking it, reading the instructions
and following them. You don't need to do anything as root. And, of
course, reporting your results to me.

I'm not going to publish the URL here, as I'd like people to request it
from me directly so that I know who is testing it and so that I can
advise testers of updated versions in case I have to make changes to it.
You can request the test archive's URL either by replying to this
message by email or by asking me on the Humbug IRC channel or at the
meeting today. Please don't reply to the list.

At present, this code is alpha software and is not freely distributable
and I'd expect people not to do anything except test it and report to
me. After I have the test reports, I will release a polished version
under a suitable open source licence and I will announce it wherever I
have posted this invitation to testers.

Cheers, Greg
