You'd really need a contact within UQ to help you out there I'm
afraid. You could approach some of the software engineering lecturers
from ITEE perhaps? If it's a small enough group for a seminar room
you'll be able to swing it easy, if you need a lecture theatre, that
becomes more problematic.

Another option would be to book a room at brisbane city council library:
