... or PSU incompatibility.
This may seem like a pile of bollocks, but, ... I have come across a
situation where a power supply and case were "incompatible". The PSU
was perfectly okay and tested to be so in a few different systems ...
but ... when installed in this particular case it wouldn't work
properly no matter what was tried ... different m'board, different
(or no) hdd, etc.. When a different PSU was installed, all worked
fine. :-/
When I first came across this phenomena, I was thoroughly confused and
thought the man at the computer shop was bull*&#%ting me. Still have
no logical explanation. :-(
