The opportunity has presented itself for Brisbane to host this years
Open Source Developers Conference in December. The previous OSDCs
have been held in Melbourne, but after several years and with an LCA
to organise, the OSDC organising committee have asked for another
city to host it this year. Sydney have said that they are willing to
host it if no-one else can be found, however not surprisingly the
committee would like to find a city that wants to host it.

The conference is much smaller than LCA, generally 150-200 people. I
am willing to help organise it, and several humbuggers who were at
LCA have also expressed interest and excitement at the prospect of
hosting OSDC. I will let those individuals speak for themselves; I
felt it important to start this discussion now we are back from LCA
as the decision needs to be made within the next couple of weeks.
