I'd like to thank all the people who replied to me via email and
IRC. Your thoughts were very helpful.
For the benefit of the curious, while there were some votes for
Evolution, there were a lot against it (bugs and instability
were both cited). There was strong support for Thunderbird and
no negatives. There were single mentions of a couple of obscure
and inappropriate alternatives. I'll set up a Thunderbird trial
and see how that goes.
