[H-GEN] converting webcam app to V4L2

I'm trying to update the webcam broadcaster in the yahoo chat client I'm 
cleaning up to V4L2 compatibility. It currently mostly bypasses V4L1 with 
hard coded values to support only OV519 cams.

My current problem is that I'm having trouble with ioctl() calls failing and 
superseded v4l1 ioctls.

Can anyone give me pointers/ link to get me going?

The current code is in src/webcam/gyacheupload-v4l.c and can be d/l from
