[H-GEN] My Mega Distro Server now has a Dual Layer DVD burner.

My Mega Distro Server now has a Dual Layer DVD burner. This means that
I can offer a burning service for all ISO's served by the distro server.
All DVD formats supported by the Pioneer DVR-110D can be catered for,
this includes DVD-R, DVD+R, and DL & RW versions of both.

However, DVD DL blanks are currently ten times the price of single layer
blanks, while only giving twice the capacity, so stick to single layer
DVDs for now. I will not carry a stock of DVD DL blanks as I can't
afford them at current prices. On the other hand, there is only one DL
ISO at the moment, so if you want a copy of SuSE PRO 9.3 DVD 1 you will
need to supply your own blank DVD DL. For single sided DVD's I request
a gold coin donation, or a can of coke B-).

While on the subject, I burned too many coasters finding out that K3B
doesn't like single layer DVD R's (+/-). It was quite happy burning
DVD-RW and DVD+R DL though. I had to invoke growisofs from the command
line to get ordinary DVD R's to work. Given the current price of DVD
DL's, this is going to annoy the hell out of me for my "B word" plans
(never say the "B word" anywhere near my computer) as I now can only
afford to use the single layer disks. I have mentioned the how and why
of my "B word" plans much earlier in this list, the short version is
that most of my data is ISO's that have a natural affinity for storing
on DVD's.

A nice point and drool interface will make the initial "B word" of all
those ISO's a much more pleasant experience. So, anybody know how I can
fix K3B, or an alternative GUI front end that I can use? I am currently
using the versions supplied with SuSE 9.3 PRO, updated to the latest
SuSE patches as of last weekend -

dvs1 at cluster:~> rpm -qf /usr/bin/growisofs
dvd+rw-tools-5.21.4.10.8-5
dvs1 at cluster:~> rpm -q k3b
k3b-0.11.22-3

P.S. Until a solution is found, when you ask me to burn a single
layer DVD, please remind me to avoid K3B unless you REALLY want a
coaster an hour later.
