What about outside one of the major computer stores around the town,
an example being Harvey Norman at Carindale.
IIRC there are 2 or 3 computer shops in the shopping centre near the
corner of Nursery & Logan Roads, Mt Gravatt ... may be worth
considering.
Also, Computer Alliance and someone else are at the corner of
Broadwater & Logan Roads.
There are probably a number of other places around Brisbane that would
attract sufficient people on a Saturday morning for a small stall.

I can be available to help on Saturday morning for a few hours, but
not much more than that. Also, I have a Fairmont wagon that could be
used to transport stuff.

Not so much a suggestion as a comment:
Anyone talking to the general public extolling the virtues of OSS in
general, and/or Linux in particular, must take special care not to
turn it into a Microsoft bashing exercise.
I'm sure most of the people on this list will clearly understand at
least a few of the reasons for that.
