[H-GEN] disposing of old PC hardware

Hi,

First, thanks to all who wrote regarding my ISP choices. I've pretty much
decided on my ISP and am rapidly narrowing down my choice of ADSL
modem/router.

As part of our moving process, I've been reminded of how much old PC crap
we have lying around. By old I mean the mostly used up shell of a P233, a
mostly functioning shell of a P120 which served us well for 4 years, a 486
DX2/66 which looks like it was designed to withstand a nuclear atack, and
an old monitor which I believe is showing signs of age.

I'm thinking I'll hang on to the P120 for a bit, at least until I do some
upgrades, as once I replace the power supply fan, I could wheel it into
service without much effort if needed, but I figure the rest is pretty much
useless (operational maybe, but very old--e.g. a 120 MB HD).

So how should one get rid of such gear? I've heard about toxic material in
old PCs and figured someone on here would know how we're meant to deal with
this stuff.

Geoff.
