I haven't run fsck on it yet.  I like the idea of making a duplicate 
filesystem to mess with, but not sure where I have room to put it.

# dd if=/dev/hdc1 of=/dev/null
1951424+0 records in
1951424+0 records out

Seems ok.  I personally think something caused the other computer to write 
crap to the drive.  I've not yet pulled the other drive to see if it's ok.
