Or you could use a different shell to COMMAND.COM or its later 
equivalents, such as the trusty ol' 4dos, which did a number of the 
things bash does.  I believe it's still in existence somewhere, but 
since my Windows PC is just a glorified games console, I haven't chased 
it down. :)
