The PVR cards are pretty nice I have mine set so that I use about 1Gb 
per hours recording. The digital tv signals take many Gb per hours 
recording unless you transcode. (Or theres something I dont know yet)

My setup here is a PVR card in my main box in the home office with about 
500Gb of hard drives in a logical volume. I use an xbox for the frontend 
in the loungeroom. Let me tell you Microsoft makes the premier hardware 
platform for hosting a Linux based PVR, the remote control buttons are 
perfect and it not only looks the part next to a telly, but generates 
much less heat and uses alot less space than a regular pc.
