I used to have a similar problem with my DLink DSL-300 until locked it
G.DMT mode.  Some modems, this one in particular, like to "fall back" to
ANSI mode, causing a temporary loss of line sync.

You should be able to find instructions for your particular modem from a
Google search, your manuals or by asking your ISP.
