[H-GEN] data synchronisation

Greetings,

I recently got a new mobile phone, a nokia. Using a usb cable and tools
like gnokii and gammu I can access the phone, and data like my contacts
and calendar, as a serial device.

I would like to use a tool that allows me to sync the data with a
database, I am aware that I will have to write these tools myself. I
would like to know if anybody on the list knows of a good white paper or
overview of synchronisation methods.
