Okay, to get these to work at startup, dump them in /etc/rc.local (as
others have suggested). BUT, with dhclient, by default, it tries to
configure _all_ interfaces via DHCP, this unfortunately includes the
loopback interface (lo), and hence, it sits there and eventually times
out, buggering up the config for lo (and any other interface) in the
process.
So, you should should in fact append the following:
| ifconfig eth0 down
| ifconfig eth0 up
| dhclient eth0
That should get you running... ;-)
