Hi Sarah,
Svend Olaf Mikkelsen was a friend indeed when I had a similar problem, he
"lives" in the comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware.storage newsgroup and has a web
site http://www.partitionsupport.com/utilities.htm
With that tools I was able to find the lost partition clusters after the
MBR and tables were totally destoryed and I extracted the complete contents
of the partitions. His tools work for FAT, NTFS, HPFS, BeOS and Linux ext2,
ext3, reiserfs and swap partitions,
