I just got a phone call from Bigpond. They reckon they can't see a
problem at their end any more (no packet loss). They didn't say
they've fixed it, but I have had a steady connection since then.
They are sending another tech (the 3rd one!) out on Thursday.
I am convinced that the problem is external to my network now.
Thanks for your help guys :)
Check out the blipvert list - I want to talk to someone who wants
some cash for a little linux/bash/php/eGroupWare/backup challenge,
along with occassional support (but probably in reality rarely
ever).
Peace
